1.  INSTITUTE

1.1 Who is CIDI Chanapatana founder? How long has CIDI Chanapatana operated?
Chanapatana International Design Institute or CIDI (pronounced "Cee-Dee") was founded in 2000 under Luangphor Viriyang Sirintharo Foundation. It aims to develop Thailand 's design human resources to be competitive in international landscape, as well as to be able to establish Thai brands in global market.

1.2 Who are CIDI Chanapatana management and administration?
Management team and administration officers are a volunteer team serving Luangphor Viriyang Sirintharo Foundation at no remuneration. The team led by President Dr.Sakron Suksriwong, who is currently a special lecturer at Chulalongkorn University and a top executive of private and public organizations, consists of high level executives from private corporations in various fields who wish to share their passion of developing Thailand design capabilities.

1.3 Since the institute is a non-profit organization, how can I trust the professional quality of educational management here?
In fact, CIDI Chanapatana students can benefit from the nature of non-profit organization here because tuition fee for Thai students is partly subsidized by Luangphor Viriyang Sirintharo Foundation. Despite that fact, the administration of this institute is managed by highly experienced executives from educational and private organizations. Therefore, you can be assured that the quality of education at CIDI Chanapatana is not compromised.

1.4 Does CIDI Chanapatana have any academic cooperation with other universities?
CIDI Chanapatana has achieved academic cooperation of various types with public universities e.g. Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, Phranakhon Rajabhat University, Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep, Thonburi Rajabhat University, Chulalongkorn Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University. Several public universities have sent their instructors to study at CIDI Chanapatana.

1.5 Does CIDI Chanapatana have any professional cooperation with other organizations?
CIDI Chanapatana has established professional cooperation with a number of well-known organizations. For example, Thai Yamaha Motor and CC-OO brand  in form of awarding scholarship to study Diploma programs at CIDI Chanapatana to the winners of particularly selected contests arranged by them. CIDI Chanapatana also cooperated with Thailand Textile Institute (THTI) to, for example, mutually exchange researches & knowledge in design industry.


2. ADMISSION

2.1 Does applicant need to have at least M.6 or equivalent educational background?
Yes, it does. CIDI Chanapatana requires such qualification to ensure the high quality of class. Also, it is the similar requirements in international institutes.

2.2 Does the CIDI Chanapatana Diploma program offer admission other than September intake?
Given the nature of the curriculum, CIDI Chanapatana only and annually offers admission for September intake.

2.3 Does CIDI Chanapatana require standardized English test e.g. TOELF, IELTS or TOEIC?
No. Even though CIDI Chanapatana currently does not require any standardized English proficiency score, we require average English skill of all applicants. We also strongly encourage applicants to improve their verbal English skills to obtain highest benefit from classes.

2.4 Does applicant need to have educational or professional background in design?
Not at all. We have experienced a number of gradates who barely draw line correctly in the first day become successful designers. CIDI Chanapatana students learn from the beginning of how to draw, choosing material, to finish up their own collections and projects.

2.5 What will I get from CIDI Chanapatana diploma program if I've already had a degree in design?
CIDI Chanapatana students ranged from non-experience novice to experienced professional can benefit from integrative, inspiration-driven curriculum. For years, we have experienced an award-winning interior designer, as well as public university professor, enrolling at CIDI Chanapatana to improve their practices. CIDI Chanapatana curriculum emphasizes how to create works from individual inspiration, not merely technical skills. Experienced professional therefore can benefit from such unique approach of learning and be able to deliver refreshed design.

2.6 What are current tuition fees?
2008 tuition consists of the following:

1) Tuition Fee

266,000 Baht (Luang Phor Viriyang Sirintharo Foundation will subsidize all Thai student for 100,000 Baht each as the decuction from the full tuition fee)

2) Appilcation Fee

3,000 Baht

3) Registration Fee

5,000 Baht

Net fee for Thai students is 174,000 Baht

Net fee for international students is 274,000 Baht
