1st SEMESTER (SEPTEMBER – DECEMBER)
This course focuses on a basic instruction in the area of the constructed environment; giving students the opportunity to interpret reality and reproduce that reality through drawings. This course also teaches students how to measure and graphically represent their surrounding environment.
The first part of this course is dedicated to the study of classical styles ranging from the Greek and Roman world to Baroque style. The second part of this course will examine the most important works, together with artistic and cultural movements from the 1700’s to present day. Lectures will include presentations, videos, films, as well as guided visits to the most important museums and monuments of Bangkok.
This course concentrates on the development of each students’ expressive potential, aimed at the creation of the design mentality, the introduction to modular design and relative design exercises. Likewise Design Fundamentals will cater to the development of composite capacity in each student through appropriate graphic exercises.
Through practical exercises, lectures, and demonstrations students will learn freehand drawing and rendering techniques as a means of communicating their ideas and professional projects. Students will also be exposed to lessons on perception, execution, and concept presentation skills.
